Message from the City Parks & Recreation Director

Sep. 17, 2020

HI everyone,
I have exciting news. We have received official word from the Saskatchewan Health Authority that we can open our dressing rooms based on the following:
1. Physical distancing is not mandatory in the locker rooms if participants are from the same mini-league, as players from the same mini-leagues are considered unable to adhere to physical distancing during competition and game play. If players in the dressing room are from different mini-leagues, they must remain 2 metres apart (with or without masks). This means that as long as you are not intermingling teams and cohorts of skaters you can assign one dressing room per cohort/team.
2. Due to the current gathering size limit of 30 we are requesting that only 1 person per participant on the ice surface be allowed in the stands and building as a spectator/helper with equipment.
3. Arrival time is still 10 minutes prior to your ice booking and you must exit/leave the dressing room 10 minutes after session is finished.
Staff will begin assigning dressing rooms as of September 17th, 2020, if you require more then one dressing room for your booking please advise prior to the booking and the Facility will try their best to accommodate. As dressing rooms require extra Covid cleaning between rentals, there is no guarantee of two dressing rooms unless it is a game. We ask that groups do not book back to back games at a facility to ensure adequate time for cleaning between dressing room allocation.
Facility Renters are still required to ensure that all facility and SK Re-open guidelines are being followed. It will be up to the renter on what they want to allow for spectators. We have been advised that contract tracing is not mandatory from Saskatchewan Health Authority but greatly appreciated.
Entrance for Fairview West Arena will still be the East Doors with Exit out the West Doors. Spectators are not to leave out of the front East doors. Everyone must exit out the West doors.
The i-plex is set to open October 1st. With this we are asking all patrons to enter in the front south entrance to dressing rooms. We are asking patrons to exit at the back of the facility by the WHL visitors entrance to the parking lot at the end of the dressing room hallway. Map attached.
Thank you so much for your patience as we work through these fluid and changing guidelines to ensure that all citizens remain safe during these times. We will keep you posted as we continue to hear more.
If you have any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to contact me. Have a wonderful day.
